J. Craig Dickens

J. Craig Dickens is the founder and CEO of Merit Harbor Capital, as well as an experienced entrepreneur, certified M&A advisor, investment banker and angel investor. He is responsible for setting the firm’s vision, creating a culture of personal service, and recruiting great people to build the team across the country. He currently leads MHC’s Food & Agribusiness and Manufacturing / Distribution business segments.

Before launching MHC to help other business owners, boards and shareholders create and capture value, Craig started or acquired 14 businesses across diverse sectors, and executed add-on acquisitions within those companies to create over $500mm in enterprise value. He gained first-hand knowledge and experience in raising capital across several platforms, as well as executing dozens of buy-side and sell-side M&A events. Over 27 years, he has participated in virtually every kind of business dynamic from start-up to IPO, merger to acquisition.

Craig’s deep experience in M&A advisory and investment banking has shaped the firm’s innovative approach to finding greater value for companies and their owners. That knowledge has been distilled in our proprietary Grow Fast & Exit Profitably!® methodology and our M&A 2.0® process. Craig has built a deep rolodex of funding sources and corporate leaders over his career.

His primary focus is working with business owners who have spent most of their lives building their companies. As a lifelong entrepreneur, he understands the challenges they face, and brings an objective, experienced, and innovative perspective to his advisory services.

Craig graduated from the University of New Hampshire and went on to attend Babson College’s top ranked Entrepreneurial MBA Program.

He holds series 24, 82 and 63 licenses and specializes in sell-side M&A, institutional and private debt and equity placements, and assisting select high growth companies in raising capital. Craig serves as a key advisor to several companies and boards.
